Hiiii. I’m back y’all. With a new logo and new intentions and new vibes haha. First of all, shout out to the awesome @cihua.mazatl for creating this beautiful and powerful logo to honor this change.
I decided to change the name from Mariposa to MariposX to add more intention to the name. The X represents infinity, change, transformation, X-pansion, inclusivity, energy, death, rebirth…. I also wanted it to represent my own gender expansiveness and that of the queer, trans, and non-binary people I serve. In the Spanish language the X is used at the end of commonly gendered words to make it a gender neutral term. Mariposx can mean Mariposa, Maripose, Mariposo, Mariposi, Mariposanything we want really haha.
As you can see from the beautiful logo, I am not only using a butterfly but also a skull to represent change, transformation, death, and rebirth. I honor the Mariposa Healing that I started on November 13, 2020. It helped me and many others heal, laugh, expand, transform, learn, and grow. I know I was due for a change and redirection when I started getting many messages and signs of death. Dead intact butterflies, visions and dreams of Mictlantecuhtli and Mictecacihuatl (the Mexica masculine and feminine energies of death), and a feeling of expiration. Forcing me to see my own vitality and mortality. Where I come from and where I am going. They made me think of the only two absolute truths beings have. Being born and dying. We will all go through this process. I think we have many opportunities and settings to honor life, as we should. But I think we don’t have as many to honor death. The death and energy of change as we go through cycles as well as the death of loved ones, or even preparing for our own death.
I am called to continue to still hold space for people going through transformations but now also focus on holding space for grief, despair, loss, the unknown, becoming more comfortable with the idea of death. I find pleasure in exploring dualities and the in-betweens and outsides of them, liminal spaces. In order to appreciate life, I have had to die many times. In order to appreciate death I have had to learn how to appreciate and truly live my life. To thank creator. To say, “This thing called life can be hard but I have found glimpses of bliss in the faces of my family, my friends, in art, in mushrooms, in animals, in a tree. And I want to stay. I know I wasn’t sure before but I am now. I want to fulfill my purpose, to offer my gifts. To be a mundane human. To cry, to laugh, to dance, to feel all the emotions. To eat yummy foods. To be confused and get clarity over and over again. I am here to stay for as long as I decided to stay here before I decided to come back to earth. I am here to stay until I become soil again.”
May Mariposx Healing serve you as a portal to your X.
Thank you for being here. I missed you. I love you. I appreciate you.
